My aunt, cousin and his wife took me on a trip to the north of India that was absolutely beautiful. The states in India differ so much and growing up and visiting here I had only seen Maharashtra and Goa, so I feel so grateful that I got to see a whole new view of the country.
My time in India is coming to a close, and although I loved my time here I am eager to return to my family and the familiarity of home. My experiences in India have tested me and in many aspects I did not accomplish everything I set out to do here, but I have learned much more about myself and that satisfies me more than any photographic essay could right now. I may only have good singles, but that's enough for now.
More to come this weekend...

Back from the Mountains
I just returned to Bombay after 7 days in small cities in the Himalayas and I have 10 GBs of pictures to look through before I edit and post anything. Sorry to keep you waiting so long!

Deen Dayal Upadhaya Nagar Chowl
My Aunt's maid, Asha, was kind enough to take me on a mini tour of her neighborhood. It was so wonderful to see these winding streets filled with life and colors, busy with children running and playing with each other. They are lined with small shops, temples, and rows and rows of narrow houses that manage to fit five or six people. Here are a few shots from my walk.

Camera's Fixed!!
Good news, Canon quickly repaired my camera! Another great thing about India - the ridiculously fast service.

Fresh Market in Mumbai
As you saw, it's been raining a lot in Mumbai, and my camera body is water resistant so I haven't been too worried about it get hit with a few drops here and there. I've never let it get drenched and when it does get wet I dry it off as soon as I can. However, I was shooting at this market and as we were leaving, I went to review the last picture I had taken and the camera was dead. I figured it was the battery, but when we got home the battery was fully charged. Now i'm out of a camera, which is really really sad. I took it to the Canon Service center and hopefully they can fix it before I got Shimla next week. Boo!
